I am Dylan Tarín, a lawyer registered with the Il·lustre Col·legi de l’Advocacia de Barcelona (ICAB), member no. 32973. I focus my practice on tourist accommodation, short-term rentals, licences, and defence in administrative proceedings and sanction cases.
I have more than 18 years of professional experience and more than a decade specialising in the legal issues surrounding tourist accommodation. I have defended owners and property managers before public administrations and worked on matters involving short-term rental platforms.
My work combines analysis of national, regional and municipal regulations with the review of administrative files, decisions and case law. The aim of this website is to explain each issue using identifiable sources and to provide clear legal guidance before decisions are made.
I was born on Bruc Street in Barcelona, and since then I have witnessed the constant transformation of my beloved neighborhood and the city, as well as the main impacts affecting its residents, visitors, and the coexistence between the two.
With more than ten years of specific experience in the sector, my mission is to offer a solid, well-founded defense that protects my clients' interests in the face of an increasingly restrictive regulatory environment.
I appeal sanctions for alleged infractions in the management of short-term rental properties throughout Spain:
Avoid risks before starting your activity or during ongoing management:
Direct handling of matters before local and regional public authorities:
A clear structure by issue and territory to quickly find the legal information you need.
Defense against sanctioning proceedings and short-term rental fines.

Coverage in Spain

I have worked as a lawyer for more than 18 years, leading the legal departments of multinational companies in Spain and Latin America. After that stage, I decided to dedicate myself to what matters most to me: helping vulnerable people and groups against abuse by the administration.
In 2017 I founded the ACABA Association (People Affected by the conflict between Barcelona City Council and Airbnb), representing more than 600 people and succeeding in having sanctions of up to €60,001 fully cancelled before the courts.
I have led actions against unfair competition and had unjust regulations struck down before the High Court of Justice of Catalonia, always with the aim of protecting citizens' primary residences and rights.
The most important thing is not to sign anything without legal advice and to respect the deadlines for filing objections. A defense started in time is the key to having cases of up to €60,000 dismissed.
It depends on the local regulations and urban planning of your area. I analyze the technical and legal aspects of your case to find the most solid legalization path available.
Although my main base is Barcelona, I represent clients throughout Spain, with a particular focus on Madrid, the Balearic Islands, Andalusia, and the Canary Islands, where administrative pressure is greatest.
